BUSINESS CANNOT EXIT WITHOUT HAVING CLIENTS

As we navigate the age of technology, we can now access information instantly and in the palm of our hands. We can access thousands of pages of materials and documents, receive detailed descriptions on how online searchers navigate and interact with websites, and we have ads that are chosen according to interests. Businesses are spending more time gathering this type of information and building databases filled with statistics and data. But there is an unfortunate trend developing both amongst entrepreneurs and companies.

Some businesses can recite information and statistics they have gathered on their clients or their markets, others understand it, and a select few can see the trends and the tendencies. Yet my coaching sessions with entrepreneurs revealed something concerning. Despite having this information, when I ask questions such as “Tell me more about the last person that walked into your store - what made them decide that they had and needed to resolve a problem?” This is the moment when I am most often met with blank stares, with entrepreneurs unable to give me answers.

MOST ENTREPRENEURS DO NOT KNOW THEIR CLIENTS

Entrepreneurs are the experts on their products and services. And yet, about 70% of the ones I have worked with as a small business coach cannot answer the following question: who are your clients?

The purpose of this book is to address this growing problem. This book is the first step at launching a movement, one where entrepreneurs are moving from information gatherers and experts in their product/service, to also becoming experts in the second key area: clients. The book explores this current trend, what needs to change, how to make this change and strategies to integrate the knowledge in businesses.
